Family Writing Project

A simple way for families to stay connected — even when they live far apart.

How It Works

1. Send a Photo
Each month, every participant sends us a current photo.
2. We Print & Mail
We print a 4 × 6 postcard and mail it back with a stamped, pre-addressed envelope.
3. Write & Send
Write a note or draw a picture and drop it in the mail.

Why We Did This

For years, our family stayed connected with an annual gift exchange. It was fun — but as our family grew and spread across cities and states, once a year just wasn’t enough.

We wanted something simple, meaningful, and sustainable. Something that worked for grandparents, kids, and everyone in between.

The Family Writing Project started as a small experiment: one handwritten note a month, fully prepared, no excuses. After the very first month, we all fell in love with it.

There’s something special about holding a real postcard, seeing a current photo, and knowing someone took time to write just to you. That’s the feeling we wanted to make easy for other families, too.
